San Juan Islands Destination Couples Session

There is something inherently romantic about life on the open sea.  Feeling the wind in my hair as it filled the sails for us to crash through wave upon wave, Lindsey and George steered their boat toward Smuggler’s Cove.  The island around the cove was nothing like I have ever seen.  There was this lime green algae that covered the rocks and there were few bare trees while starfish lined the water edge.

Beautiful, but definitely an adventure to get to.  It took two ferries and two seaplanes to get to our meet up spot up in the San Juan Islands, which I was happy to do since that in itself was such an adventure.  Victoria is quaint and charming with its beautifully manicured trees lining the streets. There is a fantastic little place for tea there with tasty scones if you are interested.

From there the seaplane took me to Vancouver where there was some time until the next seaplane so I rented a bike to take around the park.  It was so beautiful, I have to remember to go back at some point. I even ended up taking a small break at a beach and had some local kambucha (um, can we say heaven).

Finally after spending the night at another island I took a small ferry to meet up with the two sea adventurers on their boat for us to sail back down to hit up Smugglers Cove.  It was so fun hanging out around the boat as well as all the small hiking adventures. And even more spectacular was that night as the sun dove down and the cove was left in the dark, we chased around bioluminescent algae in the dingy. I have never seen so many stars and such bright glowing algae as that night.

The Most Amazing Beach Portraits – Destination Wedding Photography

As a Destination wedding photographer, one of the most amazing experiences this summer was with these two.

I was so stoked to meet up with this rad couple in Washington and hop aboard their boat, the Sailing Kist.

From there we sailed for about 8 days and took portraits along the way.

This day in particular we anchored in a place known as Rebecca Spit, to photograph a quick session and take some amazing beach portraits.

The Most Romantic In Home Session – Washington

Home is 100 percent where the heart is, and especially for this couple.

Sweet Megan and Derek have been clients of mine for their sweet Washington Greenhouse Elopement and are the dearest of friends of mine.

And their little family has just gotten a beautiful new home and we just had to celebrate this chapter of their life with what became the most romantic in home session.
